My name is Mrs. Shavonne, and I have been an educator and tutor for eight years. I have taught as young as preschool and as advance as college students. My areas of interest are anatomy, health science, elementary education (especially science), and writing. I also have four years experience as an online college instructor. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught as young as preschool through sixth grade at the elementary level. I have over eight years experience as an educator. My experience includes public and private schools; therefore, I am familiar with several types of curriculum (including ABEKA). Because I have taught students who are gifted, as well as students who are considered "at risk," I am familiar with all learning styles. In addition to that, I also have four years of online teaching experience.
Because I have taught from preschool age children through adults, I understand that there is no one way of studying. I also understand that the first step in studying effectively is to be an organized student. I can help you become organized and determine study techniques that are best suited for you.
