If you need assistance with math, I am the woman for the job. I am a certified a teacher in the areas of middle grades language arts and math; also, I am currently deepening my own mathematical understanding through a math program at UGA, while also teaching full time. I chose to become a tutor, because I see students struggling when all they need is someone to take their time and patiently work with them; not to mention I love math and I love to help others understand math and its' importance. I can help almost anyone with algebra 1 and algebra 2, Geometry, pre-algebra, discrete math, and anything in between. I am patient and use a variety of methods when explaining math concepts to my students. It's never too late, so if you need help I'll help you build the foundation it takes to truly understand mathematical concepts.

Today was our 1st tutoring session for our son who simply needed some math lesson reinforcement. Erica interacted very well with my son, was patient and took her time explaining the math concepts. She went the extra mile to really assess my child and evaluate his needs. My son and I really liked Erica....looking forward to another session.
Erica arrived on time. I actually hired her to tutor my nephew, and he appeared right away to be at ease with her. She was patient with him. He stated after first lesson that he actually liked the tutoring session and is looking forward to the next session.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
ACT Math is a collection of pre-algebra, elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, geometry, and trigonometry; basically all the courses that should have been taking by the end of the eleventh grade year.
Expanding basic algebra concepts in understanding linear equations. This course also focuses on simplifying expressions, solving equations and inequalities, using numerical representations, along with graphical representations and algebraic notation.
Algebra 2/3 develops advanced algebra skills such as systems of equations, advanced polynomials, imaginery and complex numbers, quadratics, and concepts and includes the study of trigonometric functions, logarithmic and exponential equations, and introduces matrices and their properties.
Elementary math is basic computation skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Also focus on working with fractions, greatest common factors, least common multiples, and primes. There is some introduction of geometry and algebra as well.
The GED Mathematics Test assesses an understanding of mathematical concepts such as problem-solving, analytical, and reasoning skills; focuses on Numbers Operations and Number Sense, Measurement and Geometry, Data Analysis, probability, and algebra.
Geometry focuses on the comparisons between geometric figures such as triangles, polygons, circles, and parallelograms concerning surface areas, volumes, congruency, similarity, transformations, and coordinate Geometry.
Areas to be covered may include: use and choice of verb tense, generic and specific nouns, modal verbs, conditionality, word formation, prepositions, comparison, and sentence structure.
Pre-algebra builds upon mathematical skills like fractions, decimals, percents, positive and negative integers and rational numbers; with additional advanced computation using ratios, proportions, and solving algebraic equations and word problems.
SAT math focuses on the ability to reason quantitatively, solve mathematical problems, and interpret data presented in graphical form. Master Arithmetic, college algebra, functions, geometry, data analysis, and SAT Math will be easy.
