Augusta, Georgia native, Phillip McCants was not always a writer. In fact, writing was a chore that was only done if it was required for a class. In high school he had his heart set on becoming a music teacher. In 2011, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Music with Education. During his early college years, Phillip realized that he had a gift for writing, and sought to use that gift to earn extra money.
It was not until he began teaching 4th grade Early Intervention Program students that he realized the importance of written communication. Teaching grade school was not his passion, but the need to help others propelled him into the field of higher education.
As an Information Library Assistant at Augusta Technical College, Phillip always had a wealth of information at his fingertips. From 2007 until now, he has mastered the art of research, formatting, technical documentation, resume reconstruction and editing. Working as a library information assistant forced him to develop and master the aforementioned skills in order to help the student populace. To further help students and clients, Phillip recently earned his Certificate in Professional Technical Communication from JERonline through Augusta Technical College.

By using the insight he has amassed from working in several institutions of higher learning, he willingly shares information with others in hopes of aiding them to become fruitful in their educational and career endeavors. Many times people feel trapped by their "lack" of experience and qualifications. The spirit of success encouraged Phillip to start his own business, Printed Excellence: Written Communication at its Best!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students.
