About Jon

The ability to succeed in various areas of mathematics is crucial in the educational process. If you find yourself struggling in your current courses, you should take steps now to get some help. Along with motivation and consistent hard work, most students can find greater success with the additional help of a personal tutor.

I currently teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus at Bible Baptist Christian School in Hampton, GA. I am in my third year of teaching, after recently graduating with a Masters degree in Teaching and Learning from Maranatha Baptist University. Throughout the past five years, I have had multiple opportunities to formally tutor many different levels of students.

Policies that will make your tutoring sessions special:
1. The "elastic hour." Schedule permitting, your 60-minute lesson can be stretched a bit without charge.
2. Opportunities to meet most often include a public place, such as Chick-fil-A or Starbucks.
3. For mixed-gender tutoring, I ask that a parent or responsible adult be present, or that we meet in a public place.

I teach with patience and with a traditional philosophy of education. We will begin where you are in your subject of need and bring you to where you need to be. Contact me for personalized sessions in south Atlanta!

I currently teach a variety of math courses, and am the head of the math department at Bible Baptist Christian School. I enjoy working with students on various math topics in a way that is exciting, encouraging, and energetic.

Feel free to contact me when searching for a math specialist!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I currently teach 8-12th math at a private school, including algebra 1.

Prealgebra

I have a B.S. in Math Education with a Minor in English from Maranatha Baptist University; 2013.

Jon K. took the time to get background information about my son's school, history, and work habits. Extremely relatable. Despite my son's misgivings, he was happy about the lessons.
