About Michele

I first began tutoring by helping my nieces and nephews to pass their highschool math classes, they had always struggled with mathematics. I learned back then that I had a talent for helping others understand things and it developed a passion for teaching. I began attending Chattanooga state in 2010, and while studying for my degree in psychology, I took a job with the public education foundation as a peer mentor. The department head soon realized that I had a knack for helping my students to learn the difficult subjects. The department head immediately appointed me as the program's math and science tutor.

Once I graduated and transferred to UTC I stayed on with PEF as a tutor and also helped to develop a summer bridge program. The summer bridge program assisted over a hundred students in passing the college entrance exam and I was the lead instructor in mathematics. After finishing my studies at UTC, I took a job with a learning center and tutored young children in developmental mathematics and reading.

I have tutored in a variety of math and science subjects ranging from preschool age to college undergrads. Some of the subjects I have tutored include developmental math, highschool and college algebra, geometry, statistics, pre calculous, biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, anatomy and physiology. I currently tutor my own children as well as privately tutoring others.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Anatomy

I have tutored numerous students in anatomy and physiology at the college level and have also completed anatomy and physiology 1 and 2 in the past three years.
