I was an education major when I began college. After serving in the U.S. Navy and working with technology while serving, I changed my major to Computer Information Systems. I obtained a B.S. in that field and worked as a Data Analyst, Technical Support Specialist, and Web Design Instructor. I am currently an Operations Analyst II for a government agency and have completed both a basic and advance management certification program and a leadership certification program. Also, I am a Microsoft Certified Professional and I am an advanced user of Microsoft -MS- Office Suite, which includes MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Publisher.
I always found myself teaching college peers and friends how to use various software programs and how to create web pages. Teaching is my calling; it is a gift.
After working in the technology arena for several years, the economy changed and I began working as a substitute teacher for 1 1/2 years. I also worked as a first grade teacher for 2 years as I studied Early Childhood Education in a graduate program Macon, GA. I completed all requirements except for 3 classes to become a fully certified teacher. That includes passing the Praxis I and the Georgia Assessment for the Certification of Educators (GACE) Early Childhood Education - Content Knowledge Exam, which makes me a non-certified, but highly qualified teacher for K-5.
Also, in June 2008, I was the recipient of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators'-PAGE Award for Outstanding Member for the Bibb County region. The award was given, in Atlanta, GA, to members who were politically involved in the educational process for the state of Georgia. I attended sessions at the Georgia State Capitol to participate in the listening to and debating of laws that were being implemented that affected teachers, students, and the teaching process for the state of Georgia. I also attended other relevant meetings and events that PAGE organized.
While teaching first grade, in 2007, I began doing private in-home tutoring

Katrina went over some parts of the asvab with me. What I love was that she was really patient and understanding, not only on the asvab but life lessons as well. She is a very good person and I’m blessed to have her as my tutor.Cyrie, 4 lessons with Katrina
Katrina is very knowledgeable in Excel. I was having trouble with an assignment that I had been working on for two weeks and all it took was a couple of hours for her to explain where I went wrong. Katrina is patient and very detailed. She explained everything in a manner that was easy to learn and I really appreciate of the advice and tips she recommended during the session. Thank you Katrina for being an awesome servant of God, a great person and an outstanding teacher!Cynthia, 1 lesson with Katrina
Yes, she is one of best tutors that I've ever studied with. I understood very well from her approach. Thanks.
Katrina taught me to work with Macros in the Excel Program. She is every educated about the Program, this made it easier for her to break it down for me to comprehend it. Thanks.Derrick, 1 lesson with Katrina

My daughter is struggling with 9th grade algebra and needed help ASAP. Katrina determined our daughter's needs first and then provided simple formulas for algebra concepts. After only 1 meeting, our daughter said Katrina made algebra very easy and she has great confidence about algebra now. For the first time, our daughter was excited about algebra and ready to take her next test. I HIGHLY recommend Katrina as a tutor!Hope, 1 lesson with KatrinaTutor responded:
Thank you so much for the generous comment. I really enjoyed working with your daughter and hope for her success in Algebra and ALL of her studies. I believe in education and I believe she will do very, very well. She just needs a little guidance from time-to-time, but she is very capable and very sharp! If you ever need me again, I would be more than happy to return to tutor your girl(s). Thanks for being parents who care about your children's academic success.

It was a pleasure working with Ms. Katrina. I was able to accomplish my goal for the time allotted. I immediately noticed her experience and knowledge of the subject. I was disappointed that her schedule did not permit her to return the next day. I would recommend Ms. Katrina with 5 stars.Kenny, 1 lesson with Katrina
I have really enjoyed having Katrina as my tutor. When I was struggling in MS Access class, Katrina helped me when she enlightened my understanding of the program. I completed the class with a "B" successfully.LaJoyce, 4 lessons with KatrinaTutor responded:

I am so happy we chose Katrina as our son's tutor. After his sessions we always ask him how does he feel about what he has learned and his response is always "I really like her and she never leaves without making sure I understand what she is teaching me." She is very encouraging and he feels very confident. He is very motivated and excited about learning when she is tutoring him. 12/02/2011- As a parent, I would like to state that I continue to be pleased with the service Katrina is providing to our son. He is encouraged to continue learning. He has never looked forward to being tutored as he is now. 3/17/2012- Katrina thank you very much for all that you do to keep my son encouraged. His self-asteem has elevated.Regina, 30 lessons with Katrina
