Bio

I have a lifelong love of learning and teaching, especially when it comes to math. I received a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from LSU and worked for seven years in the chemical industry. I took a hiatus to raise my children, and I homeschooled them from K-12, so I have years of experience teaching all levels of children. I recently earned my Master's degree in Financial Engineering from University of Southern California. During that time, I tutored another Master's degree student in a high level, mathematics-based course. I'm one of those people who loves math, and I also understand people who don't like it. There's that special moment, after time spent studying, where it just seems to light up and then the student understands. That's what I love best about tutoring.

I have a deep understanding of math, from many years of study and application of mathematical principles. My years of taking academic courses and teaching make me an excellent tutor. In addition, I am very patient, I explain things well, and I enjoy meeting each student at his or her own level. To help someone stop struggling and understand math better is very satisfying.

I took courses in electrical circuits, digital logic, electronics, and process control theory, and then applied these concepts as a process control engineer. I could see the theory come to life in a real world setting.

It is an honor for me to participate in someone's learning process, and I am grateful for the opportunity. Achievement in education enriches a student, expands the mind, and provides opportunity. Learning math is not just about the techniques; it's about learning to use your mind in a logical way to solve problems, and that's a skill that can be applied to your life. Please contact me if I can help you. It would be my pleasure.

Excellent calculus session

Pam has an excellent knowledge of the advanced topics in AP calculus and therefore my daughter was able to demonstrate a strong command of the subject

Oral, 1 lesson with Pam

She is good, clear, concise

I already signed up for lesson 2 in 2 days from now and will try to implement what she taught me so quickly and clearly tomorrow for practice. She really is excellent! I'm doing this to advance my job skills and she has impressed me already in lesson 1. Things never clear before I had several "now I get it" moments despite our call cutting in and out due to the internet connection. Money well spent!!!

Very knowledgeable and patient

Pam is amazing ! She is so patient and kind. I'm older so going back to school and math in general has been difficult for me. I would never be making it through my math class without her . She explains things clearly and makes them simple to understand. She is very flexible about when she can meet . I highly recommend her ! As long as I need to do math i would pick her over and over . She is so helpful .

Very helpful!

Very knowledgeable and patient with me. It had been awhile so she had to start at the beginning. I seem to be getting it and have a stronger understanding after the first session.
