Tutoring has been my passion since I attended my college, a top tier Engineering School in India in which I graduated with honors and worked with prestigious companies like Ranbaxy, CMC and HCL. I started tutoring professionally in 1998 and have tutored over 200 children from grade 4 to grade 12 in the last 15 years.
I believe there is no set way of teaching math to an individual. My approach to teaching each student is unique. My greatest skill is recognizing the student's weaknesses very early in the teaching process. With this insight, I emphasize the strengthening of basic concepts, which has shown to significantly enhance the student's learning ability and fundamental understanding of mathematics within a few sessions. Furthermore, I am able to show how to clearly work math problems in multiple ways and have the ability to explain and show correlations and connections between various areas of math (for example, how algebra is related to geometry).
All of my math students have seen a significant improvement in their grades and now look forward to learn new topics of math. Some of them have even transferred their understanding to other math-based areas of study, including chemistry and physics.
Finally, many of my SAT and ACT students have seen a significant rise in their math scores (at times a 200 to 500 point increase) and have been admitted to renowned universities, including Georgia Tech, Emory, Princeton and UGA.
