Hi, I am native Arab speaker and a holder of a bachelor’s degree with 15 years of experience in teaching the Arabic language to non-natives. I moved to the United States a few years ago, so I still speak Arabic perfectly. When I first moved I was thrilled to learn that there is a demand for leaning Arabic in the U.S., so I continued to do what I used to do back home, and that is to teach Arabic.
In my country I taught non-native students at an international school. Here in the United States I have been teaching adults (so far) who are learning Arabic for different reasons, and this makes the whole process interesting. Since I have good experience in curriculum design I am able to alter the teaching material and make it fit for each student’s needs, goals and way of learning.
Besides teaching, I also worked as a United Nations employee, and I work now as an interpreter, translator, and I develop language tests. This makes me use the language every day in a professional way. I look forward to teaching you and/or your child, and hope to hear from you. Anne Marie is extremely patient yet she still pushes me to do my best. This is precisely what I want in a tutor. The ninety minute lessons go very quickly because she is an engaging instructor. I am very impressed with her flexible teaching style. She continues to customize the lessons to suit my goals.
Anne Marie is a great personal tutor for Arabic. In the past, my son studied Arabic camp and classroom settings. He said that he learned more from Anne Marie in a few lesson than he did through all of his other experiences. We highly recommend her!
Anne Marie is incredibly talented. She prepares extensively for lessons and I am always surprised by how much I learn in my time with her. Anyone looking to learn Arabic or refresh their skills would be well served to choose tutoring with Anne Marie. Her method is flawless, we go over conversation, reading, writing, math, and listening exercises in each lesson.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a native Arab speaker and a holder of a college certificate. I have been teaching Arabic language for many years, and to students of different levels. I find teaching Arabic very interesting and you can feel it in my class. I have a curriculum set for each level, but there is a space for altering according to each student's needs. I love it when my students tell me that I am the best language teacher they have ever had.
