About Candice

As a graduate of DePaul University's in Digital Cinema M.S Program, I have learned a great deal about television and video production. I have a strong producing background, with great organizational skills.

I also have a keen eye on the aesthetics of the production and a fervent knowledge of the cinema studies. Previously, I worked as a resident documentarian at University of Illinois in Chicago- African American Cultural Center and freelance videographer for several departments on UIC's campus.

I made efforts to create webisodes and short documentaries that both promote the cultural center and inform students, faculty and staff of untold stories in African American History.

For a documentary, I conducted interviews with civil rights activists, authors, historians and students. While producing this documentary I was able to work with students at UIC, teaching them all aspects of television and video production.

On another project, I was able to produce, shoot and edit several webisodes for the Korean Christian Television Network, provide full lectures on social networking sites as well as shoot and edit for the full-length documentary.

Throughout my projects and films, I am very detailed-oriented and organized, in order to bring out well-composed shots and a persistent story in editing. Through different projects I have developed a passion for teaching and mentoring future filmmakers in the art of storytelling. I also used Final Cut Studio, Photoshop and Adobe Premiere and After Effects to enhance story telling and production quality.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Video Production

I believe my experience working in a variety of different positions has given me the wide-ranging skill set and preparation I need to thrive. As a result of my background, I've gained valuable experience in producing, directing and editing. I excel at learning and adjusting to new situations, and have become adept at handling a variety of work environments. I pride myself on being a hard worker, and am dedicated to doing a professional job, every single day.

documentarian at University of Illinois in Chicago- African American Cultural Center and freelance videographer for several departments on UIC's campus. I strived to create webisodes and short documentaries that both promote the cultural center and inform students, faculty and staff of untold stories in African American History. My
documentary, Bayard Rustin: Love Out Loud revealed the manifestations of Rustin's legacy through interviews with civil rights activists, authors, historians and students. While producing this documentary I was able to work with students at UIC, teaching them all aspects of television and video production.

My most recent documentary, The Future of Ecumenism, explores the 10th assembly of the World Council of Churches in Seoul, South Korea. This documentary tells the story of how 200 young theologians, from all around the world with different denominational backgrounds, partake and experience this historic assembly. Together they go on a journey to achieve unity, justice and peace as one body in Christ and as the future leaders of the ecumenical movement. Through this project, I was able to produce, shoot and edit several webisodes for the Korean Christian Television Network, provide full lectures on social networking sites as well as shoot and edit for the full-length documentary.
