About Allison

I've taught most levels of high school mathematics, emphasizing Trigonometry, Alegebra II, Geometry, and Algebra I. I started as a Mathematics Special Education teacher, so I understand how to work best one-on-one and provide scaffolded instruction based on prior knowledge. I also understand how to use varied strategies to help concepts make sense. I also have an in-depth understanding of SQL and also IT-computer systems background from working in a software company as an employee trainer. I generally can figure things out, even if I'm not quite sure how to solve a particular problem.

Trigonometry, Algebra 2, Algebra 1, Geometry, Math Strategies, College-level Discrete Mathematics, College-level Abstract Algebra, Linear Algebra, Advanced Problem Solving

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

SAT Math

I received a 790/800 on the old SAT and feel confident with any math/logic skills from my experience teaching high school math.
