I have been teaching ESL for nearly seven years in both the United States and abroad. Currently, I teach both native and non-native speakers at a University. Prior to teaching in an academic setting, I taught at private language institutes and in Costa Rica. What I love most about tutoring is the ability to establish and maintain an excellent rapport with students. Tutoring is better than teaching because I have the chance to be the one just helping instead of giving a grade (and helping). It is incredibly satisfying to see the look on a student's face when they understand something for the first time. I call it the "light bulb look," and I absolutely live for this moment!
I believe in 100% transparency, so I will be honest as to whether or not I will be a good match for you for tutoring.
I have never had a student complaint. Similarly, I have a unique ability to make students feel comfortable with me during the first session. Feel free to contact me any time with questions. I look forward to hearing from you all. I have been teaching ESL for nearly seven years in both the United States and abroad. Currently, I teach both native and non-native speakers at a University. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
