I love to learn and to come along side students who simply need motivating and a little supportive individualized instruction to be able to succeed. I like to build lessons based on the needs I observe in students. My lessons engage students in conversation, skill building, and writing, and I enjoy leading students to think and be playful and experimental with their ideas. I am an encourager who leads students to realize they can achieve their academic goals with a little extra effort.
I began teaching Middle School Language arts right out of college in 1982 in a private Christian school in West Palm Beach. I taught 9th grade LA at Norcross High School for five years in the late 80's. I minored in History at Asbury University. I have taught American History Part I from Bob Jones Publishing Company for 2 years.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
