About Chelsie

I graduated from Queens University of Charlotte in May of 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in physical sciences. I worked for BASF: The Chemical Company for over a year until a family relocation brought me to Albany, GA where I now work as a Quality Manager.
Throughout college, I tutored peer students as well as local high school students in various math and science subjects. I have also completed several internships and independent research projects related to the science field.

I would be happy to help others expand on their knowledge and reach their optimum potential. If you are interested in help with understanding subject matter or would like to further your knowledge to prepare yourself for the professional science world I'd be more than happy to help.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Biostatistics

I took several courses in college that involved the knowledge of biostatistics. I interned at the major hospital in Charlotte, NC (CMC-main) where I was required to take a biostats course for all employees as well as conducting research projects solely based on biostatistics in order to present abstracts and scholarly peer- reviewed articles/ studies. We published more than 5 articles in which I did primary research.

Discrete Math

I took this class in school and received over 100% in the class. I also have had hands on experience through internships and my professional career in using discrete mathematics to develop databases and algorithms.

Organic Chemistry

I have my degree in Biochemistry. I took several semesters of organic chem classes. I worked for BASF, the chemical company and worked with organic polymers in various states, every day. I am now a Quality Manager at a plant that works with materials in which we test for organic compounds on a regular basis using the NIR, LEECO, and various other spectra and distillation processes.
