Bio

In my several years working as an English and French tutor at a local community college, I was able to work with students at nearly every academic level. Because of this experience, I am able to personalize individual lessons to suit the needs of the student depending on his/her academic strengths and weaknesses.

In my several years working as an English and French tutor at a local community college, I was able to work with students at nearly every academic level. Because of this experience, I am able to personalize individual lessons to suit the needs of the student depending on his/her academic strengths and weaknesses.

Between the great deal of writing I completed in my undergraduate and graduate careers and the amount of one on one time I spent with students (both as a tutor and a graduate teaching assistant) I feel confident that I can improve any student's academic situation.

My favorite thing about tutoring is experiencing students' "aha!" moments. When a student finally gets it-- regardless of what "it" is-- I feel an immense sense of pride, both in my student and myself. Equipping students with the tools that they need to navigate not just a scholastic environment but the entire world itself is the best job I can imagine.

I worked throughout my undergraduate and graduate careers as an English and French tutor at a local community college. During that time, I encountered students of varying abilities; some could barely read and write, some were learning English as non-native speakers, some were proficient and just needed some proofreading and tweaking. During that time I was able to develop a set of tools to assess students' abilities and create a unique set of lesson plans to help each student with their problem areas.
