University of North Georgia (Psychology)
I greatly enjoy writing short stories, poems, even term papers--I plan to publish a book one day, but for now my time is mostly spent studying at the University of North Georgia. I intend to graduate with a Master's Degree in Psychology, and a minor in Spanish. My original degree was English; however, I feel Psychology will broaden my scope of influence, as I wish to live in South America one day as an English teacher.
Nevertheless, I have gained extensive experience through the years in relation to writing most especially. I first began attending any writing workshops offered near me. This was greatly beneficial as I quickly gained a better understanding of words and their respective construction.
In high school, I landed the Vice President role for our Yearbook Publication. I was a part of the creative, editing team for 3 years. Moving into college, I wished to continue a leaderships role in an area I feel so strongly about. My freshman year, I became President of the Creative Writing Club. We met twice every week, encouraging the creation and sharing of short stories. This was an incredible time for each member, as we all grew so closely to one another through stories so uniquely special to each of us.
Additionally, my sophomore year of college I had the opportunity of being hired on as a writer for the Odyssey online. This is a publication that each University has the ability to create for their school. Weekly, I submitted articles pertaining to local matters or just personal pieces I felt compelled to share. Although my site no longer is visible, as I formally ended my position at the Odyssey, I do have a personal blog spot, where I share my creative pieces to an online community of fellow thinkers and writers. My busy schedule limits how often I post, yet I do plan to further those online publications in the near future.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
