I have loved math all my life and I took lots of it in school. I even attended math contests and I learned much more math in Electrical Engineering. Now I enjoy the opportunity to help others with their math and electronics. I have been tutoring for more than nine years and I really enjoy helping the students. I work with students in middle school, high school and college level math. My daytime job is tutoring college students in math and electronics. I don't just give out the answers but I help the student with the methods to find the answers. I can help with algebra I & II, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, math I, II and III. Just send me an email if you have any questions. Oh yes, and I am very good with computers and Microsoft Excel.

Homeschool

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

Algebra has always been my favorite math subject. When I was in high school I went to statewide math contests for two years and placed in the top ten both times. This algebra deals mostly with linear functions.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 is a more advanced, more complex version of algebra 1. Here we get more involved with non-linear functions as well as imaginary and complex numbers. As an engineer and as a college level tutor, I have worked with algebra 2 type functions and problems for many years.
Calculus,

Calculus

For more than 6 years I have tutored college students in calculus and algebra to help them pass their classes. I have an electrical engineering background in which calculus is used, not just taught. Calculus is mostly the study of curved functions in which calculus is used to find the slope of the curve at any given point or used to find the area under the curve. It has practical applications in many areas of engineering and areas of science such as physics.
Geometry,

Geometry

Geometry is all about shapes and most of these shapes can be broken down into triangles. "Triangles are your friend", I tell my students. Learn everything you can about triangles and it will be very helpful to you. When I was in high school I went to statewide math contests of algebra and geometry for two years and placed in the top ten both times.
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

I am very well qualified to tutor pre algebra because I have been tutoring math from 4th grade level to college level now for more than seven years. I have worked with many students helping them to improve their grades. I really enjoy math and enjoy working with math students one-on-one.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

I work with many college level students at my full time job on precalculus who did not understand it in high school. I show them how to convert between degrees and radians, how to find various trig and inverse trig functions and how to relate their studies to the real world.
SAT Math

SAT Math

SAT math is an intense test to see how your math abilities stack up against other students throughout the nation. I scored in the ninety five percentile on the SAT math. I have a BS in Electrical Engineering Technology where I studied and applied lots of math. I also have more than nine years of experience tutoring various levels of math.

Electrical Engineering,

Electrical Engineering

I have worked with electronics from the age of 14 when I got a job in a TV repair shop. Since then I have worked with video and audio equipment in the Air Force, and later at commercial video equipment installation and repair. I later became Engineering Supervisor for a major television station and then later, Chief Engineer of another television station. I have also tutored electronics students at a local college for about six years, helping them understand how to use the math they have learned with the electronics formulas and how to construct, test and analyze circuits

Trigonometry

Since I have been working with college level trig students for several years, I have a rich, deep understanding of the subject. Much of my engineering background involved trig also.

I am qualified to tutor the math portion of the Praxis, or in Georgia the GACE. I have taken and passed the PRAXIS for math. I have also been tutoring math for about 7 years now, for students from the 4th grade to college level. I have, in fact, tutored adults aspiring to become teachers, for the PRAXIS exam. I did this tutoring through a different tutoring company. Three major items that qualify me: I have passed the PRAXIS exam myself, I have tutored math for about 7 years, and my career was in broadcast engineering where I studied and used lots of math.

Knowledgeable in electrical engineering

We went over a simple RLC circuit and he did a really good job of explaining resonant frequencies in layman’s terms. This made understanding the mechanics of the circuits simpler.

Very good tutor! We made the right choice

My daughter has been using him for a few weeks. Her grade has gone from an F to a B. She feels way more confident when taking tests and even the teacher has noted that she is not as confused in class as she used to be. We plan to continue these sessions for the rest of the year. Very pleased with the results.

Very patient & encouraging

We're only 3 sessions in and it seems that my son is having more success and confidence in his math skills. The first test was just this past week, so we'll see how much it has translated into classroom performance, but I am very hopeful based on the sessions we've had.

Excellent tutor, very experienced

Jerome was very helpful and very patient. He was easy to schedule with and showed up on time. I recommend him for sure.

Knowledgable and professional tutor.

Jerome returned my initial e-mail right away! We scheduled a session for that evening for my son. Jerome was extremely helpful in getting my son to understand Pre-calculus concepts better, and we look forward to working with him again next week!

Prompt / Punctual

It was a pleasure meeting with Jerome. After inquiring about tutoring services he contacted me promptly, more than I can say for any of the other Tutors here. I tried reaching out to several other Tutors on this site and it was a challenge getting them to email me back, not Jerome. He contacted me by phone after our initial email messages, to see what exactly I wanted to have my son accomplish. I must say the first meeting went quite well. Unfortunately I cannot give Jerome a rating as it was our first encounter and that isn't enough to base his effectiveness on. If I were basing it based on Customer Service and punctuality I would definitely give him a 5 star. Looking forward to what lies ahead, which I'm quite positive is going to be great. Thanks Jerome.

First Session with Jerome

Jerome knew how to problem solve to find the root of our son's mental block when it came to pre-calculus. My son was worried about the individual concepts he was not grasping that his high school teacher was trying to teach. Jerome explained that that is because he wasn't seeing the big picture; the why behind the concept. Another thing that my son pointed out is that Jerome knew right away when he was guessing, and called him out on it. We have very high hopes.
