Hi! I’m Marvette. I have always loved tutoring. My first assignment was in high school as an Algebra tutor. I continued in college and have now tutored all ages from elementary students to adults. After graduating summa cum laude with a BS degree in Accounting and working in related fields for 15 years, I returned to the classroom. Amazing Tutor!
My daughter really enjoyed her first session! When she was finished I saw a spark in her that I hadn’t seen in a while! She made her feel at ease with math which is usually a subject that makes her anxious. Also, the homework assignment she completed after the session scored an “A.” Marvette has been a real confidence builder and we are grateful for that! We are looking forward to our upcoming sessions.

Thorough and helpful
Marvette was quick to reply to my initial request for a tutoring session. She got back to me right away even though she was not available for the same day. I appreciated her promptness and scheduled a session with her. She was punctual and well prepared for my tutoring. She had materials to help me better understand adjusting and closing entries in financial accounting. I liked that she also quickly covered some fundamentals in accounting, which I was already familiar with, but it was a nice quick refresher. She used things I like to help me better understand the material—and it sure helped! I will be scheduling more sessions with her. She’s a great tutor!

Marvette takes time to explain the concepts with relatable examples that the student naturally gravitates to. She is able to do this so well because she keenly gets a little information on her student prior to class. After she asks certain questions like what is your favorite color or activity? She will construct a lesson where she will use that to help explain concepts in accounting. Genius instruction.

I took lessons from Marvette for my college Accounting class and really understood the necessary information through this tutor. She works hard to understand how your specific class teaches and modifies her lessons to fit the same style and curriculum. She also has very useful charts and outlines for different budgets and balance sheets that I will use to study for my final. Brilliant tutor and would recommend.
