Hello! My name is Corey, and I've been a tutor for a number of years now. I've worked with students from a variety of backgrounds across a fair spread of ages [as young as 4 to 70+]. I majored in mathematics and minored in computer science, and I'll be pursuing a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering.

One of my goals is to become a professor of electrical engineering, and to that end I've studied teaching methodologies and practices in my free time. And in March 2020, I passed my Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering Exam administered by the American N.C.E.E.S.

My tutoring colleagues would often come to me when they had difficulty explaining a concept. I believe this happened as often as it did because I would create and lean on interactive visuals using tools (e.g. Desmos or simulations in MATLAB) my colleagues were less experienced with. I am a big believer in understanding the fundamentals, but I also wholeheartedly believe in the power of visualizers for refining one's understanding of a concept.

I'm an excellent math tutor because I majored in mathematics, and I've tutored it at a variety of levels for a variety of clients. I've tutored for companies, at the university level, and on a very personal family-to-family level. As a result, I'm confident in my ability to make math "click" for people.

In a strange way, I've probably tutored physics longer than I have mathematics. Though it's been a moment since I've studied it formally, I employ that skill set often through designing circuits and tutoring physics students (Classical & Electricity and Magnetism).

I'm quite confident in my MATLAB skills.

:)

If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. If you have any doubts, I'd be happy to correct them.

Feel free to reach out to me and schedule a lesson! I look forward to working with you and helping you however I can!
