I am a graduate of Mercer University and received a Bachelor's in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I was a supplemental instructor at Mercer for 2.5 years and helped students in Chemistry and Pre-Calculus. As a tutor for almost 3 total years, I have tutored in Biology, Chemistry, and Algebra I and II. That being said I have experience in one-on-tutoring both in person and online, but also can help multiple students in a group setting as well, as some of my Mercer tutoring sessions we had groups as large as 15-20 students.

I really enjoy Chemistry and Biology and always have found myself in those subjects every step of the way, which includes my major at Mercer, and research at Mercer. Along with Masters level work in Biomedical Sciences at GA-PCOM, and research there as well in Microbiology. Also it was necessary for me to understand it well to be able to gain an acceptance to Medical School. Overall these subjects are nearly part of my everyday life and dialogue so my passion and understanding of these subjects is really helpful to my students and allows me to communicate and teach them more efficiently.

Some strategies that I do employ when trying to help students is trying to use easy to understand techniques that students can apply to the most common subjects and topics they will see in Chemistry or Biology or Algebra I and II. Setting up templates essentially allows students to memorize less and think more so they can understand why answers are correct or incorrect, which helps them not only improve their grade but also confidence. At the end of the day, my goal in helping students is not only help them improve but have them enjoy learning these topics, so I always try to relate this topics to things they enjoy, such as sports, cooking, music, etc. I always come prepared with a gameplan for every tutoring session so students can maximize the time they have learning.
