My love of teaching comes from my family. Teaching is a big part of my family and I knew that is what I wanted to do when I grew up. My mother inspired me to want to help students be successful and love learning. My main goal as a tutor is to help students achieve higher scores and become better students. When I work with students, I first try to understand what they struggle with in their studies and then we will work together to make learning fun and find a way to improve their learning.
I specialize in tutoring Elementary Math and Reading. I will work with your student to discover a way to help them improve their Math skills and confidence in Reading. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I loved to read, but I had a problem pronouncing words. I had to take Speech Therapy when I was in Second grade and I used it as a motivational tool to help me gain confidence in reading.
