Hello, my name is Kar'retta. I am a 26-year-old, two year Ph.D. fellow at Howard University in the field of Atmospheric Science. I am a former valedictorian for my high school and hold a bachelor’s degree in Geology and a master’s degree in Environmental Science.
Although I am capable of teaching a diverse assortment of subjects, my specialties are in math, science, and computer technology. Understanding the importance of education, I have embraced the value of gaining knowledge and teaching others how to obtain this information as well. I believe that anyone that is willing to learn a subject will be able to with the proper guidance.
In my past, I have tutored and taught many students (K-12 and college) and adults on various subjects including math, science, English, and social science in their personal quests toward furthering their education. I have also taken classes for elementary education and was a substitute teacher for a year at a private high school in Georgia. I also created and taught adult computer classes at my former job as a librarian for 4 years. Through good communication skills, the ability to relate real life examples to various subjects, and problem solving techniques, I am able to connect with people from all different age groups and backgrounds to reach their personal educational goals. I am looking forward to working with you to aide you in your quest for educational satisfaction.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I can help with concepts like Order of Operations, Evaluating Expressions, Solving Equations, Solving Inequalities and Graphing Equations.
