Hello! My name is Nate and I love the guitar. I first picked it up when I was 7 years old and I haven't been able to put it down since. In my 13 years of jamming I've been able to do some cool stuff. I have played in a professional country music group called the Gina Gailey Band, played for my church, written and recorded my own songs in a studio, and I am planning on pursuing a degree in Guitar Performance and Music Education...and none of this would have been possible if it wasn't for my love of the guitar. It transformed my life completely, gave me purpose and a creative outlet, presented me with many opportunities and friendships...and now, I want to help others achieve their musical potential!
I have a good bit of tutoring experience with the guitar and music theory. I love teaching, sharing what I know with others, and helping to build up my students into the best musicians that they can be. I offer lessons for students with beginner and intermediate skill level, and I center my lessons around guitar theory and having fun. Students will learn music theory basics applied to the fretboard, songs of their choice, scales, chords, tone control, technique, and most importantly, how to jam! So whether your musical interests are in rock, country, jazz, reggae, blues, etc., I want to help you learn it all!
I like to think I am an outstanding guitar tutor because of not only my knowledge of the guitar, but because I am patient when teaching. I try my best to break down even the most advanced concepts in music theory and deliver it in an easy way to understand. I spend time building each student up to their maximum potential with each guitar concept, starting with the very basics all the way up to advanced solos and techniques.
If you are interested in learning a new and amazingly fun skill, then the guitar is just for you. Please contact me to learn more or schedule lessons. I look forward to working with you! Thank you! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have played guitar for 13 years, have an extensive level of music theory knowledge, and much experience with writing and performing music. I have successfully taught guitar for 2 years with 3 students. I plan on receiving an Associate's Degree in Guitar Performance, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, from the University of North Georgia (Gainesville).
