As a mechanical engineer I have used math for many years. I can also relate it to the student so that they understand the basis of the math problems. When they ask, "Will I ever use this again?" I can give examples of how they will use it. As an adjunct instructor I can use the experience teaching in the classroom and apply it to helping students one-on-one.

I've helped students go from failing one semester to passing by the end of the year. I've also been able to help students returning to college learn and understand math concepts to the point that they've received A's in college level algebra after being out of high school for ten years.

I do this by adjusting my teaching style to their frame of reference so that it makes sense to them and make the subject matter relevant to what they like and know.

My goal is to explain a concept well enough to a student so that I'm no longer needed and they can learn on their own.

Knowledgeable & prepared

Rich helped our daughter review & complete her summer assignment for her high school AP Physics class. Rich provided notes in pdf format from the tutoring session for my daughter to review.

Great Physics tutor

He explained things in a way that made it easy to understand. He took his time and went over the things I missed on my quiz. He is very knowledgeable and patient. He sent notes of what we practiced at home. In an hour he went over what we have covered in class in a month. It all made sense after our session! I look forward to our next session.

Has been great for my daughter

My daughter has been struggling in honors physics and Rich has been great! My daughter feels comfortable with him, he explains things where she is understanding the concepts, and he is very flexible and accommodating! We were thrilled when she received an A on her latest test. We highly recommend Rich and are very appreciative of his time and knowledge!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

This tutor took time to break down problems and show the steps. Having the notes in a pdf file was extremely effective. This was her 1st session, but she already improved her test grade. Her confidence is up, and as a mom I'm happy to see it.

Excellent teacher

Rich was professional, knowledgeable, and very detailed. Did not mind repeating the process or finding different ways to help me understand the material. I have dyslexia, and he was very understanding. I would highly recommend Rich to any student.
