Thank you in advance for selecting me as your tutor! My name is LaTosha and I am very much excited about working with each of you either online or in-person, so please don't hesitate to contact me soon, so that I can begin helping you to experience the success that you want and deserve, today. I firmly believe that as we grow older, that that we should never stop learning new things: learning something new daily is what truly makes life more fun, exciting, and interesting.

My personal background includes experiences in the following industries: education (teaching/tutoring/mentoring), human services/social services, fashion/merchandising, retail/online/direct sales/customer service/B2B sales, business/marketing/home-based business/internet marketing/recruiting/training/business consulting and strategic planning, public speaking/motivational speaking, and social media etc. During my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with family such as playing in the yard and doing arts and crafts with our kids, as well as taking long walks/drives, cooking/baking, watching my favorite shows/movies, listening to my favorite music, navigating the Internet and much, much more. In addition, I am experienced in tutoring in many subject matters, including but not limited to K-6, Grammar, Writing, Spelling, Vocabulary, Study Skills, Test Prep such as PSAT, SSAT, ACT (all areas), SAT (all areas), Regents, ASVAB, and GED etc.

In regards to a few highlights from my personal education and work experience, I obtained a Bachelor's degree in the field of Family and Consumer Sciences from Georgia Southern University in August 2000: my major was Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design with an emphasis in Merchandising and a Minor in Business. In April 2008, after many years of substitute teaching and tutoring, as well as working as a paraprofessional and high school marketing education teacher, I started working towards an advanced online Master of Arts degree in Teaching with a Specialization in Early Childhood Education: over the years, my passion for teaching, learning, watching others develop and advance, and helping others to succeed has continued to grow, as well as reward me, just as it did many years ago. With that being previously stated, I am beyond excited about returning to graduate school soon in order to complete my graduate online studies and to earn my teacher licensure and certification.

As an experienced educator, who has more than a decade of experience, I have truly enjoyed working both inside and outside of the classroom in various capacities with a variety of diverse students of all ages, grade levels, and backgrounds etc. both inside and outside of the classroom, as well as one who has two young children, ages nine and a soon-to-be four year-old, I am confident that I can help you in meeting your personal and educational needs and goals: in order to successfully achieve this, I will do so by customizing a simple, yet personal age and developmentally-appropriate plan based on your subject matter/interest(s), learning style preferences, and the goals that you would like to accomplish. As your private tutor, I pledge to always demonstrate a great passion for teaching and learning, as well as enthusiasm, reliability, preparedness, optimism, and open-mindedness with every lesson: in order to ensure that I am successfully meeting the needs and goals of parents and students, during each tutoring session, feel free to leave feedback, as this will assist me in providing even more high-quality instruction.

In an effort to better serve and to better accommodate parents and student, I do ask in advance that you honor the 24-hour cancellation notice, but also please note that I am very flexible in assisting you with opportunities to reschedule any session that is canceled in a timely manner. In addition, I also welcome opportunities for multi-lesson scheduling, as well as multiple person scheduling, as well as offer special rates for these sessions, so please take advantage of them whenever you can. If you have any additional questions and/or concerns, then please feel free to contact me, and I will be sure to respond, accordingly as soon as possible. At any rate, thank you very much in advance, again, for allowing me to serve you: I truly look forward to working with each of you soon.

All the best and to your continued success!

LaTosha H.

In August 2001, I received my BS degree in Fashion Merchandising & Apparel Design (emphasis: Merchandising) with a minor in business from Georgia Southern University. Also, from Fall 2007 to Spring 2008, I was given the opportunity to teach Marketing Education courses at the high school level, which was definitely a great experience for me because I was able to combine all of my passions, which include, but are not limited to teaching, marketing, and fashion. The courses taught during this time period included both Marketing Principles and Fashion Marketing. My students were excited about this new Marketing education program, as they were given the opportunity to learn about fashion and marketing all around us and how they both affect our everyday lives in some way. By implementing engaging, highly interactive, hands-on activities, discussions/debates, and projects, my students were able to relate and successfully apply what they learned each day about fashion and marketing in the classroom to their very own personal lives. In addition to teaching Marketing Education courses, I also had the opportunity to teach Study Skills I for ninth graders, which I thoroughly enjoyed, as well. In conclusion, I strongly believe that I am well-qualified candidate to be your tutor in this area. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

I have been highly skilled at utilizing the computer for over 25 years. In undergraduate school, I successfully completed the course Computers and Applications with a grade of A. Since then, I have successfully completed the Technology for Teachers assessment, which is also a Georgia requirement for teacher certification. In addition, I am constantly learning new and exciting things on my own about the computer, as I consider myself to be a lifelong learner. As a tutor, Early Childhood Education graduate student, and soon-to-be certified Early Childhood teacher, I also realize the importance and impact of technology in our everyday lives. Without the knowledge of general computer use, it is almost impossible to obtain employment in most job sectors today.

Elementary (K-6th)

I can tutor your student in the area of elementary (K-6). I am a graduate student working towards pursuing my teacher certification and Masters degree online at Walden University in Early Childhood Education (Birth to 3). Currently, I only have one course remaining in order to complete my program, in addition to teaching portfolio and the student teaching requirement. Also, in previous years I have had the opportunity to work extensively as a substitute teacher/after-school aid/tutor at both the elementary (Pre-K - 5) and middle school (6-8) levels. Recently, I signed on again to work as a 2010-2011 substitute teacher/tutor for the Early County Elementary School and the Early County Middle School. Currently, I have one potential parent waiting for her two daughters (3rd and 4th graders) to receive tutoring, as soon as possible. Overall, I thoroughly enjoy working with children of this age group and I believe that my unique combination of experiences and education well-qualifies me to become a tutor in the area of elementary (K-6}. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

If provided the opportunity to assist with improving a student's reading skills, I pledge to use my education, experience, and skills learned over the years in order to provide each student with the individualized assistance that he/she needs in order to tremendously improve his/her reading skills (As needed, we will work on various related areas that are relate to developing good reading skills such as reading fluency, for example: studies show that readers begin to improve in the area of fluency, when they begin to read more quickly and more accurately), which includes both word recognition and reading comprehension (reading fluency), context clues, figurative language, drawing conclusions, finding the main idea, and making inferences etc.), as reading is definitely one of the most critical subject areas, in that it that it can potentially either positively or negatively affect success in all other/some subject areas. I pledge to provide the same level of professionalism, enthusiasm, positivity, patience, and care/empathy in order to establish a positive rapport and a positive learning environment that is conducive to helping your student to reach/exceed his/her individual potential and the desired goals that you have set for him/her, as well as those that he/she has set for himself/herself and that we will initially set for him/her in order for us to help him/her to achieve success together as a team (This includes the guardian, your student, myself, and him/her teacher(s), as well, if necessary and if you prefer; this will make for a very strong success support system for your student). Thank you very much in advance for your time and consideration.

Study Skills

I would love to help you to improve your study skills. From Fall 2007 to Spring 2008, I was given the opportunity to teach marketing education courses, as well as study skills I for 9th graders at a nearby high school. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching study skills and was also given the opportunity to create my own lesson plans (aligned with Georgia standards). Creating my own study skills lesson plans was a lot of fun, as it allowed me to utilize my creativity in developing and implementing dynamic activities and projects, which led to my students becoming even more and more responsible for their own learning and actions, which eventually resulted in increased student achievement. My Students successfully learned how they could challenge themselves and get the most out of their high school experience by learning transferable skills for life and setting both short and long-term goals. They also learned about the importance of great time management, as well as great communication, organizational, and note-taking skills, in addition to great study and test-taking strategies etc. I firmly believe that possessing exceptional study skills is essential to becoming the best student that an individual can be at any age and in any subject area, as properly and regularly employing them will definitely lead to both academic and personal success. Teaching this course at the high school level was an overall great learning experience even for myself, as well. In conclusion, I hope that you will consider me as your study skills tutor based on my experience: thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
