About Stephanie

My love of tutoring has come from my lifelong love of learning. As a Summa Cum Laude graduate in both my Bachelor's and Dual Master's Degree Programs, I know that hard work and dedication to learning can pay off in tremendous ways. I am currently working on a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership. As the top WyzAnt tutor in the CSRA for the past month, year and overall for the past two years, I am dedicated to your student and their overall success. I have tutored many students over the years and helped many to realize their fullest potential, and two are currently in medical and law schools.

Being a parent and an educator, it is important to provide high quality, personalized tutoring and mentoring to my students. I believe all children are entitled to a good education and extra help after school if they need it. I work with professional educators to develop a tutoring program that is tailored to the unique needs of each child. The role of a tutor is extremely important. The student being tutored may become attached to their tutor and develop a bond that may impact their attitude towards learning. I have worked with many students during their middle and high school careers that are now in college and are highly successful.

I have been a private tutor for the last ten years working with students (K-12) through the Supplemental Education Services Program in the state of Georgia. I have taken the Middle School/High School Math and Business Education GACE Tests for certification in the state of Georgia. I work with students who have special needs to ensure that the tutoring services that they are receiving goes along with their Individual Education Plans (IEP).

I love to tutor students who are preparing to take the GED, PSAT, SAT, ACT and ASVAB tests. As an adjunct faculty member at a local university, I know the importance of scoring well on these tests, to ensure that the students are able to attend the college of their choice.

I try to be flexible with my scheduling to accommodate as many students as possible, which is why I require a 24-hour cancellation policy. A missed lesson, without a notification from the student who is not able to make a scheduled tutoring session, means that another student may have taken that very valuable time slot, especially during peak tutoring periods, such as SAT/ACT Testing and Standardized Testing Periods in Elementary, Middle and High Schools.

Please contact me today so that we can begin the tutoring journey today!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT English

I scored in the 90th percentile on the ACT English section. My approach centers upon effective, efficient studying - we will work on reviewing subject material, practicing with real exam questions, and test-taking strategies.

ACT Math

I scored in the 95th percentile on the ACT Math section.

ACT Science

I have tutored students who have done very well on this exam. This is not just another test, but the start of a new path in life! The path to coellege and the real world!
So a bit about this test..The science portion of the ACT does not necessarily test a student's science knowledge (although having a strong science knowledge base will be most helpful on the exam), but according to the ACT test writers, the exam tests your ability to:

1. Recognize and understand the basic features of, and concepts related to, the provided information

2. Examine critically the relationship between the information provided and the conclusions drawn or hypotheses developed

3. Generalize from given information and draw conclusions, gain new information, or make predictions

Utilizing these skills with students will help them exceed their expectations on this all important test. I hope to hear from you soon so that we can take this test prep journey together.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ ADHD) is a biological, brain based condition that is characterized by poor attention and distractibility and/or hyperactive and impulsive behaviors.
