I have a passion for getting students excited about chemistry and science in general. I specialize in tutoring the intimidating and often unappreciated subject of organic chemistry, and I thoroughly enjoy seeing students come to love the topic once the material has been presented in a digestible and personalized way.
I began tutoring at my undergraduate institution's tutoring center and eventually grew to become the student-lead of that center. In 2020, I graduated magna cum laude with a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology. After this, I put my scientific knowledge to practice by working in drug development, synthesizing small-molecule drug candidates for three years. During this time, I was tutoring high school chemistry on the side to continue to maintain my teaching skills. Since 2023, I have been working towards a Ph.D. in organic chemistry and simultaneously been working as a graduate teaching assistant for undergraduate-level organic chemistry courses. Here, I have both deepened my knowledge of my field of expertise and gained a greater understanding of how to support undergraduate students as they navigate difficult chemistry courses.
Throughout these experiences, I have successfully helped students in courses ranging from middle school science, high school/AP chemistry, to undergraduate chemistry courses. This experience has been in the form of personal and group tutoring, as well as both in-person and virtual settings.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I would love the opportunity to help you/your student gain proficiency and interest in the subjects that fascinate me. Thank you!
