Students return week after week, and some I’ve mentored now work at top tech companies like NVIDIA. I have been programming since the early 1980s and began studying what we now call AI algorithms in the late ’80s, back when they were known as numerical analysis and used to predict outcomes from data. At the time, we lacked the computing power to fully implement them, but I learned how to think about data, probability, and intelligent systems long before “AI” became mainstream. That perspective allows me to teach not just coding, but also critical thinking in an AI-driven world.

Over the years I have built a reputation for proven results. Many students return for long-term mentorship, and I prepare them for success not only in classes but in real-world applications. From microcontrollers and robotics to advanced programming in Python, C, C++, Java, C#, .NET, SQL, and Web Development, I help learners master today’s technologies while building the mindset to adapt to tomorrow’s. My background also includes algorithms, optimization, machine learning, and cybersecurity, giving students practical skills in secure coding, system design, and problem-solving.

I hold a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez and have worked across industries for more than 30 years as a Senior Software Engineer and Consultant. Beyond my career, I have served as a STEM mentor, robotics advisor, NSF symposium judge, and guest speaker at schools and universities. Teaching has always been central to who I am, from helping classmates and junior engineers to supporting med school researchers and even homeschooling my daughter. My mission is to help students understand not only the “how” but also the “why,” equipping them to thrive in an AI-driven future.

ASP.NET

ASP.NET

I have worked on multiple projects using ASP.Net as the base for development for the last 13 years. I have experience developing web applications in ASP.Net to perform manufacturing operations control, massive collections control, flood insurance transactions, credit card / ACH payments, advertising analysis, customer service operations support among others. I have worked directly on coding and leading teams working on these projects.
C

C

Started programming in C language back in the 1980's. Programmed in both Unix environments as well as DOS/Windows environments. Have seen the language used for various types of processors ever since as well as used in Operating Systems.
C#

C#

I have been working with C# for more than 13 years. I have used it on web applications, Windows services, MS-Office integrations, web services to connect Android and iOS applications, neural networks for image recognition and connection to back-end databases among other projects. It is a strong Object Oriented Programming Language with a rich library that now can be used beyond the Windows environment. I use the Linq library to get SQL-Like statements running on the C# environment.
Computer Engineering

Computer Engineering

I bring over 30 years of experience in computer engineering, spanning hardware design, software architecture, and artificial intelligence. My career began at AT&T Bell Laboratories while still in college, where I applied my skills to real-world engineering challenges. Since then, I have led complete SDLC implementations, architected large-scale systems, and designed solutions integrating both hardware and software. In recent years, I have specialized in advanced AI and cognition architectures, including the development of protocols for evaluating synthetic sentience (S.E.N.T.I.E.N.C.E. and JSEP). This unique combination of engineering rigor and AI innovation allows me to mentor students not only in core computer engineering, but also in cutting-edge fields such as AI, robotics, and ethical system design.
Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity

Performed data security risk assessments and compliance implementation consulting in PCI, NACHA, HIPAA-HITECH, and Federal Flood Insurance. Achieved HIPAA-HITECH and PCI Certification for clients. Performed Cybersecurity incident forensic analysis and recovery for clients. Offered Cybersecurity training to achieve CompTIA Security+ certifications. Hardened computer systems for web-facing tasks in DMZ zones and the intranet.
Machine Learning/ AI

Machine Learning/ AI

Performed research and development in the areas of robotics and AI (neural networks). Helped students and professionals with machine learning and artificial intelligence classes and projects, ranging from image recognition to detect cancer, determining when a fruit is ripe for harvesting, petroleum pump failure projections in oil wells, to A* algorithms with control theory applied for robot movement planning.
Oracle

Oracle

Working with SQL statements since the mid-1990s, helped me become a subject expert on SQL queries optimization in Oracle PL/SQL. I was consulted by junior and senior developers on Oracle PL SQL constructs and algorithm optimization. I developed algorithms for previously impossible searches of tera-byte databases. I worked both with procedural PASCAL-Like algorithms and Object Oriented algorithms coupled with SQL queries and some Java libraries.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I have been invited to speak at various universities. I have participated as a political operative public speaker and pre-candidate. I have participated as host/commentator on live radio shows. I have also participated in pre-recorded TV Shows as host/commentator.

Excellent and knowledgeable teacher!

My son has been struggling with his Computer Class and has a better understanding of the concept now, after a session with Americo. They were off on a warm and friendly start making a good connection! He’s timely and very responsive! I’m very pleased with his service!

Patient tutor

So far we were not able to conduct a lesson due to microphone issue however I will schedule another class with him. He seams to have a good knowledge of the subject matter.
