Music has and is still a huge part of my life. It's one of two things that I feel is worth pursuing no matter the cost. I started my musical journey at the age of 8 playing drums. By the age of 16 I started playing piano/keyboard in church and learned by ear. At Marquette University and The Institute of Production and Recording I earned A's in all my music theory classes. With training and practice I became the musical director for the church I worked at in New York from 2013-2015. I also write and produce my own music which makes me expand my musical vocabulary and taste. I never stop learning and growing and look to instill that same quality in my students.
I play piano, drums, and I am audio engineer. I also write and produce my own music and I am the co-founder of The Eleven:One Group, which is a music production team in Atlanta, GA.
I am passionate about music and teaching others what I know. I want to teach others so I can be emptied out to learn even more. When it comes to piano I'm pretty knowledgeable about music theory and can teach you how to play by ear. If you want to learn piano, drums, or music production you CAN do it and I'll be the one to help you in this journey...choose me! Music has and is still a huge part of my life. Jason is very knowledgeable and works well with my daughter. He is always on time. My daughter looks forward to her lessons and spends time practicing after the lesson.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been playing drums for about 20 years now. I grew learning to play in church and have taught students since October 2010. Coordination is the biggest obstacle in learning to play drums and that is what I focus on in the beginning lessons.
I graduated Cum Laude from The Institute of Production and Recording in 2011. I write and produce my own music and it is one of my life's passions. I've used ProTools, Logic, and Ableton to make and record music so I definitely help any beginner or novice in this area.
I have been playing piano for close to 14 years now. Grew up learning to play by ear in church and for the most part I am self taught. Once I entered college I learned music theory which helped me immensely with connecting techniques I learned playing by ear. I've taught piano to students of varying ages from 4 to 40 since October 2010.
