Personal Statements

Personal Statements

As a medical doctor with over a decade of experience applying to more than 100 U.S. schools and gaining acceptances at top schools and residencies, I know what it's like to write personal statements. That's why I really resonate with my students and have helped countless students gain acceptance into their top three college choices. My personal statement process is highly individualized—built on thoughtful questions, in-depth brainstorming sessions, and clear guidance on structure and organization. The whole process should take no more than 3-4 lessons depending on how quickly we can find the subject to write on and how much the student wants to perfect/tweak it.

Knowledgeable, Constructive and Encouraging Essay Tutor

My son worked with Wendy for help with his supplemental essays for several colleges. His experience working with Wendy was awesome! From the very first session, it was clear that she was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about helping students with their college essays. What stood out the most was her personalized approach. She asked questions to get to know him better and then provided specific, actionable suggestions that made a huge difference in the quality of his writing. Her feedback was always constructive and encouraging, which made the whole process much less stressful. She took the time to understand his ideas and helped him articulate them in a clear, concise, and compelling way. She greatly increased his confidence and he was able to submit essays that he felt really proud of. I highly recommend Wendy to anyone looking for expert help with their college essays. If you want someone who will not only help you improve your writing but also teach you how to become a better writer, this is the tutor for you!

Makes the student think

My son worked with Wendy on writing assignments. Loved Wendy's style, where she started with asking some questions which made my son think little deeper to start the writing. I will recommend Wendy to students who struggle how to start their writing pieces.

As such superior editor

I enjoyed working through my essay with Wendy she was very helpful in getting me to be more direct. A majority of the essay needed some re-work which she definitely helped to add suggestions. Lastly she also showed me how to grammatically use MLA correctly. It was a pleasure meeting would definitely be up for another session.

I recommend Wendy wholeheartedly; she has been an incredible piano tutor for my thirteen year-old daughter. She is an intuitive teacher who will go that extra mile to make sure that each subject is fully mastered. She has gone above and beyond to do outside research to find appropriate supplemental teaching materials for upcoming lessons. Best of all, my daughter loves Wendy's patient and friendly teaching style -- she is a gem!!
