I have many years of tutoring experience. My experience developed by assisting classmates in various classes I have had to take throughout undergrad at UNCC, and medical school. Classes I have had a great enjoyment to teach include biochemistry, biology, and organic chemistry. I have had many people tell me I am a great teacher because I am able to break information down in order that they have complete understanding. I try to approach teaching the way I like to be taught. Simple terms.
Prior to medical school I worked at Tennessee State University in the chemistry department as a Laboratory technician and teacher assistant. I also assisted my sister (and her classmates), currently a veterinarian at NC-State, gain a better understanding of immunology, biochemistry, physiology etc. While I have more experience teaching college and post-graduate students, I am also fully capable of teaching High-school and young children. As a recent graduate from Medical School I have exceptional experience with study skills as well. I certainly can assist in these areas as well. I am a mother who is in the process of applying to residency training in family medicine, while i complete my MBA online. I would be honored if you chose me to assist you in reaching your goals, and making your dreams come true. Knowledge is power but action yields results!!
I am a recent Medical School Graduate pursuing a career in family medicine. I have had to take many science courses during my premedical studies at UNCC (including biology, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, physiology, cell biology, anatomy, etc) , at summer programs for future doctors, and during medical school. I have always gravitated toward tutoring my fellow classmates in various science classes. I have also had a position as a teacher assistant at TSU in Nashville TN.
My experience as a professional student and recent medical school graduate can certainly assist in gaining a better understanding of science knowledge, as well as assist in improving study skills, test taking skills, time management, and confidence. I can also assist those who seek a medical career, as I can advise them as the pursue various career opportunities. I have many years of tutoring experience. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
