the art institute of atlanta
My name is Porscha, but I go by Pete. I graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta in 2014. I am 34 years old. I decided to go back to school for film because it's what I always wanted to do. I discovered after working varies management jobs that I hated, I needed to do what I was passionate about. I needed to do the thing I woke up every morning thinking about and fell asleep dreaming about. Of, course it scared the crap out of me thinking of all the debt I was going to be in, but hey, it sure did win over going to school for nursing. So I went for it.
Later, I graduated with the Best Portfolio in Show Award and a couple other awards, but I am so proud to get to do the thing I love the most. I do not have children, never been married. I love being a producer. I love helping people find their voice, vision and pushing them to being great. Producer's have to know everything. Be ahead of everyone and keep all the pieces together. And that is what I do best.
I have tutored a lot of students from the Art Institute. I enjoy helping people who understand that in order to be creative you have to understand the basics, the rules. Then you will understand why, when and how to break them.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

My degree is in digital film and video production. My method of tutoring is simple. I listen and ask questions so that I can give the student what they need in order to understand the subject.
