I obtained a BA in French and then in Spanish education. I have travelled and studied in France, French-Speaking Canada, and Mexico. I have worked with children and teenagers at all levels and have had great success in teaching. In addition to teaching Spanish, French and ESOL in the public school system at all grade levels, I taught in Cuernavaca, Mexico at a private elementary school. I taught English, Reading, Grammar and writing. As well, I have taught on the corporate level to business executives. I taught Spanish to these groups.
Most recently, I have tutored in an inner-city elementary skill in which the students were very much below grade-level in reading skills. Daily tutoring brought about great results! I have had the experience of utilizing my knowledge of French and Spanish in the corporate world, conducting sales of technology to customers in French-Speaking Canada and in Mexico. I am a huge advocate of learning and believe that every student should have the opportunity to win at learning!
I have been contracted by the Atlanta Public School system to work with elementary school students who were at risk and reading several grade levels below where they should be. We have been working for several months together, daily, and I have noted a significant improvement in reading ability inclusive of phonics, vocabulary, grade-level site words, comprehension of literature and improved confidence.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
