About Mark

I currently teach AP Macroeconomics at a private high school in Atlanta. I enjoy teaching the subject because it builds on my 20 plus years of experience in the financial markets. I was fortunate to work for JPMorgan Chase in both their London and New York offices. Most of my time at the bank was spent in the fixed income (bond) portfolio management group. I also have four years' experience as a foreign exchange trader.

I have taught at Columbia University, Rutgers University, and the Paideia School here in Atlanta. I was also the varsity basketball coach at Paideia for four years. I look forward to assisting you as you look to build your knowledge base in economics or business-related subject matter.

I served for three years as a career coach for senior executives at a government sponsored enterprise in Washington, D.C. I still have clients that utilize my services on a regular basis.

In addition, I managed various teams while working at JPMorgan Chase.

I have extensive experience in the global financial marketplace. Most of it was acquired during my time working in fixed income portfolio management at JPMorgan Chase in London and New York.

I was nominated as a McDonald's high school All-American basketball player in high school. I went on to play division 1 college basketball at Columbia University and I coached the varsity boys and girls teams at The Paideia School in Atlanta.

I encourage you to reach out to me at your convenience via e-mail. I am happy to hear your challenge and share with you some ideas on how to make progress.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Basketball

I was nominated as a high school All-American basketball player by McDonald's in 1982. I was a three year starter on the varsity basketball team at Columbia University in New York from 1982-1986. I also coached the varsity boys and girls teams at The Paideia School in Atlanta from 1990-1994.

Business

I worked at JPMorgan Chase from 1994-2011. Most of my time was spent in the fixed income (bond) portfolio management group. I worked in our London and New York offices as a trader and then on our client interfacing team achieving the title of Managing Director in 2004. I have extensive experience providing business solutions for corporations and governments in the global financial marketplace.

Career Development

I worked at JPMorgan Chase from 1994-2011. I was fortunate to work directly for the CEO of JPMorgan Chase for two years. It was a workforce diversity assignment where I engaged many different executives around the country providing career guidance and support. Most recently, I served as a career coach for three different senior executives at a Washington D.C. based government sponsored enterprise from 2013-2014.
