“**Great tutor!**”

Over the past few years, I have helped numerous math students raise failing grades to A's, tackling everything from basic arithmetic to advanced calculus. Factoring problems? I'm your man. Don't understand congruence proofs? I can help. Over-intimidated by trigonometric identities? I've got you covered.

I always try to help my students

Jackson has been tutoring my high school student in math and has proven to be an invaluable asset in helping him achieve his academic goals. As a tutor, Jackson is very punctual and skilled at assessing a student's area of weakness or difficulty. He is easy to understand and partners with his students to help them gain a thorough comprehension and confidence in problem solving.

Jackson has done a wonderful job with helping our son in his 7th grade math class. At the beginning of the semester, our son was barely holding on to a 60 - F. We knew things were bad. We had Jackson come every week, twice a week and watched our son's score improve little by little. He passed the semester with an 80 - B thanks to Jackson. We couldn't be happier!

Jackson did a great job helping my son catch up in math. Was able to explain things in easy to understand terms. My son felt way more confident after only one session. Highly recommend!

Jackson has been very helpful in teaching my daughter in her weak areas in math. She likes working with him and he explains information to her in away she can understand the concepts.

I would highly recommend Jackson as an SSAT tutor. He helped my child understand and prepare for the test, always keeping my child focused and on track. He is very reliable and professional.

He goes through every problem with me that I get wrong for every subject he needs to help me on, and he is always helping me understand why an answer is the correct answer.

As a knowledgeable tutor, Jackson exposed me to the ACT Science section and pointed out ways I could approach the questions to improve my performance. Rather than reading through all the details, he advised me to focus on the charts and graphs, which usually contained all the answers. Together, we reviewed the questions, and he clarified those that I did not understand to guide me to the answer. Our first session was really productive, and I look forward to learning more!

Jackson is very punctual and thorough. My son had tremendous difficulties with advanced algebra. Jackson was able to explain the concepts in a way that was more understandable. My son moved his grade from a low "C" to a B+! We were very happy with the results! Would highly recommend him.

Jackson taught me how to work inscribed angles, central angles and how to work equations with circles. He is a very patient tutor and knows how to identify the problem you're having and make it your strong suit.

Very helpful review for the SSAT including good strategy advice on how to deal with questions and whether to guess or not.

Amazing tutor and very smart. Always on time, very professional. Tutor with great enthusiasm. Never had an issue with him. Will recommend him in the future for sure.

We found out rather quickly that we needed our son to take the ISEE exam. We had only two weeks to prepare. We wanted to get him familiar with the exam. Jackson was easy to work with, and he fit us into his schedule. He helped our son understand the test and feel confident to take it. He reviewed all sections of the ISEE with our son. He worked through practice questions and discussed test taking strategies. Jackson had the skills and knowledge that we needed in a tutor, and he was easy to work with.

Jackson has been helping my son for high school Geometry and Algebra for the past 2 months. I have seen progress in my child's grades. Jackson is very committed, punctual and flexible with schedules. He is easy to reach by responding promptly to messages or emails and maintains great professionalism.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I understand how basic algebra figures into our day-to-day lives, but it can be difficult for students to see how linear relationships and quadratic functions benefit them. I use real-world applications to help students become more comfortable with all the abstract variables that typically throw off high schoolers. As a result, I have helped many math-phobic students become masters of factoring.

I often see a glazed look come over my students' faces when I mention synthetic division or conic sections for the first time. Advanced algebra always seems complicated to the uninitiated. I know how to help them see that polynomials are just the next step after quadratics and that sequences are just special kinds of lists.

I have helped many students to master the art of the two-column proof and to discern the differences between similar and congruent triangles. I show them how to organize different shapes based on certain criteria and how to verify those classifications using theorems and postulates. After working with me, my students will feel so comfortable with right triangles that not even trigonometry scares them.

I have helped many students prepare for the ISEE and its sister test, the SSAT. Both standardized tests are used to determine whether a student is academically prepared for private school. The ISEE is more like the ACT, while the SSAT, as its name would imply, is more like the SAT. I have helped students decide which test best suits their needs, gone over all the covered content (including the math, verbal, and reading sections), and discussed the test's scoring method and any tactics one can use to game the exam. Previous students have scored well enough to garner admission to their top choice schools.

As the final step before calculus, I know how intimidating this course can be to most students. I can help them gain a deep understanding of all the essential concepts: functions, rational equations, inverses, logarithms, trigonometry, vectors, and series. Through extensive practice, I have helped students learn general steps they can use to solve any problems in those areas.

I know how to help students understand the logic behind SOH-CAH-TOA and the short-cuts for memorizing the parts of the unit circle. I can teach them how to model real-world scenarios using trigonometric functions. I also have plenty of practice problems to make sure they are comfortable with proving trigonometric identities and solving trigonometric equations.
