As an experienced high-school grammar, writing, and English literature teacher, primary reading, handwriting and core subject tutor, as well as a tutor for Regular and honors English, I have developed a passion and personal commitment to helping my students succeed.
Although it has been quite some time since I taught full time in a classroom, as I have been working at home as the co-owner and editor-in-chief of several of my own businesses, I have held my love of learning and teaching close to my heart, providing individual tutoring for all ages, as well as homeschooling my daughters when they were in elementary school. During my career, I have developed highly effective lesson plans, motivational exercises, and performance assessments. I've helped improve test scores, and have received positive feedback from parents and fellow educators alike for my abilities in and out of the classroom. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
