Georgia Institute of Technology (Business Administration)
Hello, my name is Casey! I am a 4th year business administration major at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
For experience, I tutored my peers throughout high school both in and outside the classroom and later on in an after-school peer tutoring program I co-founded. In the peer tutoring program, I focused on math subjects of all levels including trigonometry, geometry, prealgebra, algebra, AP Statistics, and AP Calculus. I have had experience in tutoring all class levels offered at my high school, which includes college prep, honors, gifted, and AP. I tutored for a small tutoring company based in Grayson, where I worked with elementary and middle school students. Specifically, I focused on grammar and CRCT prep for a 4th grader and tutored on general subjects for a 7th grader. Currently, I focus on algebra and work with mostly high school students and occasionally work with middle school and college levels.
I tutor through a coaching style. I like to first evaluate the student's understanding of the material. That way, I can meet the student halfway. I guide the student by helping him/her think through the process. I ask essential questions to help the student realize the steps by having them talk through their own thinking process. Understanding which questions to ask oneself is crucial to solving any problem. This also helps keep the student engaged rather than solely listening and watching. I also observe which learning style best fits the student, so that I may adjust to a style that works best for him/her.
I strive to help my students grow not only academically, but also personally. I look forward to hearing from you! Hello, my name is Casey! I am a 4th year business administration major at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Casey was very instrumental in helping my daughter with passing her math class!!! She listens carefully to what is being asked of her and is very professional.
Thanks again, Casey!
Casey was the most incredible tutor my son has ever had. She was super thorough and took time to understand where he was with advanced skills in his past 8th grade math year. She made sure to review what was presented in class and at previous sessions, ensuring that he was able to comprehend the problems. Even though they are about 5 grades apart, it helped that she was a tutor closer to his age, as she is currently building her own while in school. She was super in meeting us in different areas for his lessons. Hands down, I felt completely comfortable on the methods she used in helping my son. His grades went up 10 points for it. And for that, I am super grateful to have met this young lady! I recommend her wholeheartedly!!
Ms. Casey is more than awesome. While she tutors my 15 y.o. son in Linear Algebra, she asks him what is on his mind while he's being tutored so she can acknowledge his thought process. In doing this , she gets to understand how she can be more of assistance in his learning experience. The notes she gave me after the tutorial session were a GREAT help to me as a parent because I knew exactly what she covered and what my son needed to practice until the next time we meet. After the session, I asked my son what his experience was and he had a smile on his face along with a sense of relief! He stated, she cleared a lot of Linear Algebra issues up during a two hour session, and this is why I say she is awesome, not to mention, she has a great demeanor and spirit about her!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
