About Daniel

Bachelors in Math Education and Masters in Applied Statistics. Several years experience helping students from all levels. I've helped students from different backgrounds--from students with an IEP to gifted students. I have not met a willing student whom I could not help. I excel at clearly explaining challenging math concepts in a way that students can understand.

My approach during tutoring sessions is to first show a few math problems step-by-step and answer any questions. Then I have students do some problems on their own to make sure they understand. I have about 100 math books and online resources to provide students with additional practice when needed. Also, when students have questions on a day we are not tutoring I accept questions by text, phone call, or email.

I've made a difference in helping many students achieve their educational dreams. I hope to do the same for you.

Daniel

PS: I also provide statistical consulting services to individuals and organizations, which includes analyzing data, discovering trends, and providing results in a professional report format as well as coaching Ph.D. candidates to present and defend the data analysis section of their dissertations. I work as an analyst full-time in the asset intelligence unit for a multi-national corporation.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Econometrics

I have helped several students from the University of Colorado at Boulder and Colorado State University in econometrics. This class is a combination of statistics and calculus. These are the two subjects I'm most familiar with.

Finite Math

Finite math is algebra with real-world applications. I've helped dozens of students in Finite Math from CU-Boulder. This is a straightforward class that requires successful manipulation of algebraic symbols.

Logic

Logic expands on the conditional statements first learned in geometry. It also uses set notation from probability. I've successfully tutored students in this class.

Microsoft Access

I have used Access for about 10 years. Last year I took an advanced Access class on infinite actuary where I used Access to work with databases. Some of the more advanced topics included using SQL to merge databases and run queries.

Microsoft Outlook

I use Outlook for work on a daily basis. I've used it with windows 7, 8, and 10. I use it to send attachments and forward emails. I also use it in conjunction with other Windows applications. Additionally, I've helped several people learn how to use it.

Praxis

I got a perfect score on this test 2 years ago.

Python

I learned Python in a graduate internship and have taught it to other students.

R

I used R in most of the classes I took in grad school. I've also taught R to several students.

SAS

I got an A in this class at Penn State. I've also helped other students in this class for the past two years. I have a bachelor's in Math Education. This year I will graduate with a Master's in Applied Statistics from Penn State.

SPSS

I used SPSS for my graduate classes.

STATA

I used STATA in my graduate classes and have taught it to other students.

Statistics

I majored in Statistics.

Awesome and very knowledgable

He is very good with young people and very knowledgable. I love how he gives homework for them to work on during week outside of the book and class. My two sons are still raving about how good he is.
