I have a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in mathematics. I have six years of formal math teaching and tutoring experience.
My experience includes working with students from middle school through university graduate school. I have provided formal tutoring to traditional and non-traditional students as well as taught college math for two years as a graduate student.
My educational focus has been a very solid foundation in the concepts and applications of math and related sciences. There are multiple solution methods and what is always important is to understand the base concepts and strengthen the concepts with practice. It is never the case that something "just is." It is always the case that something "is because" and this is why it is important and how it works for you today and in the future. I have a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in mathematics. I have six years of formal math teaching and tutoring experience.

Lloyd challenged my son! He noticed right away his natural curiosity for math and tapped into that. Very successful session and looking forward to see where this will take my son.
Lloyd is so nice and has been so accommodating with my son's schedule. My son talks about how brilliant Lloyd is and how good he can explain Calculus. We are very appreciative.
Lloyd seems to be able to work with whatever type of style you as the student have and how you learn. Very patient.
Lloyd was great! We discussed her issues prior to our meeting, and he was able to analyze her understanding of math based our conversation and reviewing a battery of test scores I had submitted to him. He was able to make connections because of his long history of being a proper math lover and real teacher. He was early for the session, and he started off the session by making my daughter feel very comfortable by finding out what her interests were- including art, and using art to connect with her to math. He reviewed some SSAT questions to check her actual results with his observations, and from working with her for about 30 minutes came up with a plan that he thought would work for her. He even stayed to help her with some Kumon that she was stuck on, and with doing just one problem with her- she was able to do all of the rest of the homework that she could not do. He made her feel confident because with Lloyd there is not just one way to arrive at an answer. He appreciated her methods and helped her work the problems from where her intuition led her- even if it was not exactly the way he would have done the problem. I liked that Lloyd spoke about trying to help my daughter who is extremely strong computationally discover the beauty of math which is what is missing from her experience. My daughter liked Lloyd a lot- she thought he was really nice and explained things very well.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have tutored and taught Algebra at both the high school and college level. My approach is to assess the students strengths and weaknesses and help the student discover "how & why" something works. I am able to do this successfully because of my experience and patience.

I have a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in mathematics. I have taught, tutored or taken classes in sets, sequences, summations, permutations and combinations, probability, graph theory, automata theory, computational complexity, number theory (congruence and recurrence relations), relations and logic.
I have considerable experience working with younger students and helping the students discovery various relationships in math. Often, I do this with math games and exercises.
I possess a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in mathematics. I have six years of formal math teaching and tutoring experience. My teaching experience includes working with high school students and teachers on pre-calculus as well as teaching both pre-calculus and calculus at a university.
