About Robert

Hello,

I am currently an Electrical Engineering and Computer Science double major at Georgia Tech with a 4.0 GPA. I also have a bachelor's degree in Finance from Georgia Southern and a master's degree in Economics from the Univ of S. Carolina. I have been working for a professional tutoring company in Dunwoody for over 3 years and as a free lance tutor off and on for almost 8 years.

I have experience working with student's of all ages. On a daily basis I am usually working with high school students in subjects such as physics, calculus, or SAT/ACT test prep. But I have worked with kids as young as 6 years old on core subjects such as basic arithmetic, reading, and elementary science.

Currently I am seeking students that wish to pursue a relatively long-term relationship. By that I mean ongoing tutoring for a period of a semester or more. Previously I have received a lot of requests from students wanting tutoring for usually one or two sessions. The goal of these requests were typically to cram for a test that a student was not adequately prepared for. This approach does not work for several reasons. One, it neglects the opportunity to develop a genuine relationship between the student and my self. Two, tutors are not for cramming. The role of a tutor is to act as a guide in the learning process. Tutors are not a substitute for this process. Finally, these sorts of short term arrangements are not financially feasible for the tutor. As a professional, I will put a lot of time into preparing for a student. I simply can't spend the time preparing for a once and done session.

If you are interested in building a learning relationship for either you, your son, or your daughter with a professional who knows what it takes to succeed at a high level in the class room then please send me a message! I look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks,

Robert P.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
