Hello! I hold my Master of Science degree with a concentration in the Biological Sciences from Clemson University (summa cum laude). I also have a B.S. in Biology from Mercer University, with minors in Sociology, Psychology, and Chemistry. I currently work full-time as a certified environmental educator at the Georgia Aquarium in the Education Department and, in that role, have served for the past seven years as an instructional programmer and educator for several of the Aquarium’s aquatic science educational programs for pre-K through high school-aged students. All of their educational programs are geared to the Georgia Performance Standards and Next Generation Science Standards, so I am actually more familiar with a wider spectrum of standards/programming than your average educator who may be specialized in just P-5 or 6-12.

While I educate literally thousands of children each year through my work at the Aquarium, some of my most gratifying and enlightening teaching moments have been with my own three children, who are currently in 5th, 7th and 10th grades. As a result of working closely with my children, as well as my experiences at the Aquarium, I have honed my abilities to motivate and engage students across multiple age ranges and disciplines. I strongly believe that learning and fun go hand-in-hand, and I work tirelessly to develop educational content that piques children’s curiosity and passion for learning.

I have a proven track record of critically and accurately assessing students’ academic performance and then tailoring an individualized educational program to meet their needs. I will work closely with you and your child to understand his/her academic goals, needs, preferred learning style(s), motivations and challenges – all toward the end result of improving both your child’s academic performance and confidence.

Outside of tutoring, I have a passion for teaching, singing, spending quality time with my three children and marine life. As you may imagine, I also love visiting the ocean--my favorite places are Tybee Island, Jekyll Island and Amelia Island.

superb

Kevin is a real professional - he made a great impression and has a solid methodology- look forward to working more with him. Great job!

I highly recommend Kevin

My son was not excited when I told him that I had hired a math tutor. He complained all the way to our appointment. Kevin was absolutely wonderful from the moment he said hello. My son warmed up to him quickly (which is not always the case). Kevin was patient and gave my son a chance to show him what he knew before he began to show him better ways to get the job done. My son was actually working on his assignment in the car on the way home. I would consider that a very successful meeting. I highly recommend Kevin if you are looking for a tutor.

Wonderful tutor, passionate about getting to know and helping his students!

My daughter's first tutoring session with Kevin was great! My daughter is extremely shy, but after a few minutes, Kevin managed to crack the iceberg . This was my first time EVER hearing my daughter laughing and actually enjoying reading. He took the time to get to know her (likes, dislikes, favorite things, etc.) beforehand. She's looking forward to seeing Kevin again!

Completely professional and personable!

Although this was our first meeting, it was a joy working with Kevin! My son is excited about the road of study ahead. Even before our session, Kevin sent us applicable videos to prep my son for the lesson. It's clear he loves what he does, and does it well!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

He has been tutoring to my son for 3 months. He is so patient, and great with him. He was in contact with my son's teachers to be in the page. I am very grateful to Kevin

Perfect Tutor for Teens

My son was apprehensive about a tutor and didn't think he really needed one, but after an hour with Kevin he is asking me for an algebra tutor as well.... but only if he is "exactly like Kevin."
