Education is about the “Ah ha!” moment: the time when you realize you truly understand something you struggled so hard to conceive before. When you are challenged with a difficult concept or subject matter, these moments of understanding are so much more rewarding. I cherish opportunities to help students navigate their way through difficult material so that they can feel confident in their abilities to rise to the next level.
As a teacher for 10+ years, I have extensive experience facilitating these “Ah ha!” moments. I’ve taught seven different types of science, math, and arts literacy to students from all over the world from grade 7 through college. In science, courses I have successfully implemented include chemistry, biology, anatomy and physiology, and physics. I also served as science department head and teacher leader for several years; mentoring other teachers to help them improve their abilities in science education as well. I currently work as a health communicator, translating complex scientific materials for the general public.
In arts literacy, I used the basic principles of language and creative arts to help Brazilian students from ages 12-24 learn to speak and read English. I am also proficient in Spanish and Portuguese and have communicated using these languages in Brazil, Spain, Honduras, and America.
I truly believe all students have the ability to learn. It is important to identify what their learning style is and use this to enhance their skills. Please consider allowing me the opportunity to work with your child so that he/she may also achieve those “Ah ha!” moments.

All went well. My daughter felt very comfortable and enjoyed the time Azizeh took with her to explain the concepts.
I can't really say enough nice things about this tutor. Her rapport with my daughter was instant and effective. She is very gentle and calm, but focused. This was just what we needed. My daughter seems to love to get tutors off topic, which is part of the reason a tutor was needed. Azizeh is very encouraging and they have worked well together. I would definitely use her in the future should the need arise.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was a chemistry major in college and have successfully completed numerous math courses such as algebra and calculus to support my science education. Mastering these courses has also helped me be a successful science teacher for ten years. Courses I have taught include chemistry and physics; both of which require strong skills in math. Finally, I have also tutored students in Algebra for more than five years.
I have a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and a minor in biology. I have taught biological sciences for 10 years. I have also served as head of the science department and teacher leader; mentoring other science teachers to help them improve their teaching skills as well. I have also done research in cancer and nanotechnology using the principles of biology. Current I serve as a health communicator where I translate complex science materials into simpler forms for the general public.
I have a Bachelor of Science in chemistry. I have taught this subject to high school students for 4 years and have tutored college students as well. I have also done research in chemistry in both academic and pharmaceutical settings. Chemistry can be a challenging subject: pulling upon math and physical science concepts. I use lots of visual aids and patterns to help students understand the material. I also try to apply it to real life so that they see its value and think of it as more than just formulas to memorize. Students tend to enjoy learning about it once they see how it relates to their lives.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with several years of undergraduate and graduate experience in math. I have tutored in math for over 15 years. Math can be a difficult concept to learn. I often use visual aids and step by step methods to help students understand the concepts. Helping students see the pattern in math makes it easier for them to repeat it when they have to apply these skills again.
I have used Microsoft Outlook for over 5 years now. As a regular part of my current profession, I utilize Microsoft Outlook 2010 numerous times a day. I am proficient in sending and receiving emails and developing draft email documents. I can readily create tasks and set up calendar events, and find the edit functions to be quite helpful when drafting documents that are correct in grammar, spelling and punctuation. As an educator with 11 years of experience, this subject would be very easy for me to tutor in.
I have been speaking spanish for over 20 years. Throughout this time, I have taken classes in high school and college. Additionally, I have spent several months in Honduras training in health professionals (all communications were in spanish). Additionally, I have traveled in Spain for several weeks.
