In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been blessed to teach music and art for 25 years. With degree from prestigious Indiana University, I have been under the tutelage of some of the most dynamic musicians in the world including Marjie Lange Hanna, Frederick Miller, Janos Starker and David Baker. I have had the pleasure of performing on-stage and in the studio with the Indianapolis Philharmonic, Kokomo Symphony, Muncie Symphony, Carmel Symphony, IU Symphony Orchestra, Maxim Shostakovich and Dimitri Sitkovestsky. In New Orleans, I have done studio work with artists of many genres including: Mamou Cajun Orchestra, Better than Ezra, the Subdudes, Strawberry Presents, Marvin Williams Jazz Orchestra, Strings Attached and Russian poet Andrei Codrescu. I have also designed and implemented many programs for young musicians including: The "Saturday Music School" at University of New Orleans, Suzuki String Program at AYS Afterschool and "Strings and Jazzy Things" for the Indianapolis Philharmonic.
I have been active in public speaking for 25 years. As a CEO and leader in the Arts, through my experiences on television and speaking to large audiences, I have perfected public speaking techniques that I am now ready to share with students.
I am the former director of the Indianapolis Philharmonic Orchestra. I play violin and cello and have been utilizing Suzuki teaching methods. I have taught many different art centers and organizations including University of New Orleans Saturday music school, Garfield Park Arts Center in Indianapolis and AYS Inc. in Indianapolis.
