I have been a Latin tutor for 4 years, and I strongly recommend that both Middle School and High School students study the language. It controls English vocabulary and grammar. Latin can add 60 points to an SAT score. I use the current in-context system, or I can adjust to whatever the student is using in school. I will take on AP students, and if they cooperate, can help them achieve a 4/5 in the AP test

Stan provided an excellent session for my son who struggled all through the 1st year of Latin and hit the wall during the 2nd. My son felt like he learned more in the 2 hour session with Stan than he learned during a whole month at school. Stan was very patient and noticed when my son did not understand a concept and worked until he did. We've got our next session tonight before a big test tomorrow. Thanks in advance for a much better score on this one.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
