I have Ph.D. in cancer Biology and completed my BS and MS in Biochemistry. I am an instructor at Emory University.
As a science educator, one of my goals is to demonstrate and relay the significance of biological concepts to students. Topics will be supported by examples of my own research. For example, topics on human diseases will be covered through presentation of the epidemiology of the disease, etiologic agent, transmission, prevention, laboratory diagnosis, and will be integrated with various course topics like molecular biology, cloning, genetics. My role would be to provide a framework of knowledge upon which students can build, and to describe some examples of relevant applications. While the main focus of my teaching will always be to educate student, I also hope to continue my own education through my teaching experiences. By creating an atmosphere of trust and honesty in the lesson, I hope that student will be open to share with me how they feel the lesson could be improved. Mohammad R. was comprehensive and methodical in explaining all materials presented to him pertaining to Biochemistry or Biology. When questions were asked he explained them clearly enough for student to understand. His ability to explain complex concepts is excellent. He has a kind heart as well. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Mohammad is an excellent tutor! I would highly recommend him with college level biochemistry and chemistry. He has taken his time to explain the bigger concepts to me, which I was lacking, in order to get to the more narrower topics or discussions. Whatever you ask him a question or for clarification, he will explain it to you thoroughly and with real world examples. Dr. Mohammad has been very flexible in his schedule to help me with any problems that I may have. I have gone into the tutoring session completely lost about certain topics and at the end of the session, I feel confident in my new knowledge. I would highly recommend Dr. Mohammad - 5 stars!
Dr. R is an excellent tutor. He has a comprehensive and extensive knowledge towards cancer, stem cells and HPV. He integrates basic concepts to extensive applications, thus helping you connect the dots. It doesn't feel like he is lecturing when he is tutoring you. It feels more like a conversation where you are also contributing as well. This methodology helps build confidence and encouragement for students tackling hard sciences. Dr. R also prepares for the tutoring session by preparing papers and notes for you to take a look at. He is extremely proactive in his tutoring approach and communication with him has been easy as he usually promptly responds in 12 hours. I highly recommend his as a tutor and look forward to many more sessions with him. Cheers! PS he also offers online tutoring with visual contact.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I earned Ph.D. in biological science and have postdoctoral training in cancer research. I completed my B.Sc. and M.Sc. major in biochemistry and molecular biology. I taught science for over 10 years and currently teaching undergraduate biology at Emory University.
I have taken "Molecular Genetics and Molecular Biology" during my B.Sc. and M.Sc. Degree. In my M.Sc. thesis, I did my research on DNA fingerprinting. In my Ph.D., I have taken genetic courses and applied these in my cancer research. During my postdoctoral training, I have had exposure to cancer genetics too.
Overall, I have not only learned genetics, but also applied the techniques in research.
