In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As a Social Services Technician at Pathways Center for Behavioral and Developmental Growth from 1996-2007, I assisted in consumer admission documentation and observation notes, administered consumer vital signs and unit rounds, assisted in treatment of children, adolescents, and adults suffering from Schizophrenia, Depression,Alcoholism, Substance Abuse issues, and Bipolar and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and was trained in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and Crisis Prevention Intervention. I think I am well capable of tutoring any individuals diagnosed with any of these conditions.
I was an A/B student throughout my elementary career. From 2000-2003, I was a substitute teacher for grades K-7 and a Teacher's Assistant for Kindergarten. I taught lessons in reading (phonics/syllables), writing (grammar), and math (all mathematics, sorting and reasoning), as well as, spelling, vocabulary, science, language arts, and social studies. I love to learn and teach others.
