I am a current finance professional with practical and academic experiences. I taught for 8 years with a CFA professional preparation course provider. I also teach in the CFA Society of Atlanta preparation course program. Lastly, I was a visiting finance instructor from 2002-2005 in the school of business and an MBA Adjunct Finance Instructor in 2012.
Some of my financial experiences include investment banking (6 years), merchant/energy banking (4), and private equity. I have applicable experience with financial modeling, asset valuation, trading, credit analysis, derivatives, economic analysis and accounting.
My approach to tutoring is similar to a piano instructor or professional trainer. When the student works on assignments independently, I expect them to have questions and issues. It is with these questions and issues that fosters an environment for teaching and learning. I like for the student to realize that they have enough intelligence to master the information. However, issues do arise, and it is here where I deal with the underlying issues and deeper learning takes place. This process will teach the student how to solve problems on their own in the future. By working with T. I have gained so much confidence in myself. He is patient when I ask the same question over and over.
He applies what I am learning to the world today. I have a better chance of passing my class because of him.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
