My name is Manuela, and I am originally from Italy. I moved to Atlanta in 2001 to pursue my doctorate in chemistry after BS and MS in Italy. After my graduate studies I also completed postdoctoral training at Emory, during which I started developing a passion for teaching. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
After several years of working in the chemistry and biochemistry departments at Emory university as a graduate student and postdoctoral fellow, I taught several years of high school chemistry and I am now a college chemistry professor. Besides the teaching and tutoring I performed during my education and work at Emory, I have been teaching and tutoring high school and college students since 2009.
