"Hola" mi nombre es Nicole, I am a native Spanish speaker from Chile with more than 15 years experience tutoring children and adults in my home country, in Buenos Aires - Argentina and in the US for the last 6 years.
I am very fond of animals and lead a healthy active lifestyle with my family and dog.
I have an Associate's degree in Theater Direction, Mime & Pantomime Movement and Art -Painting, that I especially enjoy. Many of my teaching methods in classes are based largely on play and applying techniques I have borrowed from my experience teaching theater, acting & painting. These help create an environment where learning becomes intuitive, fun & inclusive.
My own unique method of teaching kids or adults a new language (Adventure Learning) ensures that in every class, my students are given many different ways to acquire and understand the target language based in several proven approaches of teaching; total physical response, The Rassias Method, The Theory of Multiple Intellinge and full immersion. Students are engaged in fun, adventure-themed "challenges" which help them to absorb new vocabulary and grammar through music, movement-based activities, tactile games, playacting and basic to advanced conversation, the idea is feel a didactic, and stress-free environment that can be adapted to fit the particular needs and interests of the students.
As my classes use a full immersion, initially my student may be offered key information about an activity in English, however, after a few weeks, I will phase out all English communication.
I work with individuals or groups, all levels and all ages including kids, adults, professionals, seniors, etc and I take a sincere interest in the growth and development of each student. Every class is customized based on the age of the student or group and goal of the class.
The class fee varies depending on the number of the students in the same group
1 student $55

It has been great working with Nicole. I needed to brush off and augment my Spanish to use in the healthcare setting, and she has been helping me in doing so. We meet regularly and work on conversation, vocabulary, and grammatical intricacies.
As a teacher, she is upbeat and patient and often utilizes creative approaches to teaching. Concerning meeting times (and changing them), she is flexible and understanding. She is a native speaker and can help greatly with the nuances of conversation.
Nicole has been a great teacher for the boys. My youngest, who is 8, always wants to go first because he really enjoys her classes. She comes well prepared and does a great job of mixing work with play for their practice. My boys are both fluent in Spanish but I wanted someone to come and work on their writing skills and to have some conversational practice as well. She accomplishes this easily and has a very gentle spirit with the boys.
Nicole has been great with my 5 yr old son. She brings games and tries to engage him in activities. He doesn't feel it is a class and I've noticed he is absorbing the language over time.
We are very pleased with Nicole - excellent with our 6-year old son and we look forward to many more lessons with her!
Nicole is great. She shows up 5 minutes early every week and keeps our 4-year old engaged the entire time. My daughter's Spanish has picked up immensely just in the 5 weeks that Nicole has been working with her. My daughter was already familiar with Spanish and understood a good bit, but we could never get her to respond in Spanish. We would ask a question in Spanish and she would reply in English. Nicole has made their 1 hour sessions fun, so my daughter doesn't realize that she's learning - she just thinks it's playtime. After Nicole leaves, my daughter speaks Spanish for the rest of the evening, almost without thinking about it. This is exactly what we've been struggling with, and the results that I've been looking for.
I asked her last week for a list of vocabulary that they've been working on so we could practice at home during the week and she gave me 2 full pages of words for us to work on. Overall we couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend Nicole to other families in the area that are trying to teach/improve their children's Spanish. She also works with adults.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I'm a caring individual who loves working with people. I am patient, dedicated, kind, and able to think outside the box to make sure I'm able to reach any student on any level to help them understand. No matter how long it takes, I do not feel completely satisfied until my students fully understand the material we are working on.
