About Nathan

It is my privilege to provide personalized intermediate and advanced American accent English lessons, online, to ESL adults. My clients include international working professionals requiring excellent English communication skills. To prepare for these remote lessons, I reference my Kennesaw State University TESOL certification training, progressive ESL teaching experience, and scholarly ESL learning resources. I am currently tutoring or mentoring international working professionals originally from Brazil, China, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Korea, Peru, the Philippines, Spain and Russia. I tutor my ESL clients respectfully and mentor them for life.

I am available to tutor ESL clients, daily, between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m., Eastern Standard Time. Unlike the typical ESL classroom lectures offered by others, my ESL lessons are interactive one-to-one communication-enhancing experiences. With my detailed positive influence and reinforcement, clients learn to clearly enunciate the polite American English vocabulary, conversational phrasal verbs, and idiomatic business expressions respected by well-educated speakers. Mispronunciations are corrected and revisited until learners have internalized my respectful reminders.

Each ESL lesson plan begins with well-educated American English conversation to exercise, strengthen, and refine each client's vocabulary, pronunciation, and the common word combinations known as collocations. Next, on a typical lesson plan, I ask each client to read aloud from their list of past mispronunciations to confirm the efficacy of my repeated corrections. Finally, each client's lesson plan focuses on their specific English communication priorities. American English conversation, listening differentiation, reading comprehension, academic writing, presentation evaluation, and business English expressions are among the most popular options. Appropriate textbook exercises, lesson handouts, and online listening resources are demonstrated, during class, to enhance between-lesson learning opportunities.

Specialities: I am a native speaker of standard non-regional American English and a passionate advocate of lifelong learning. My ESL specialties include the teaching and articulation of the standard American accent English pronunciation and polite speech practices associated with well-educated North Americans. My high-intermediate, advanced, and business professional English lessons emphasize the multiple-word thought groups, best known as collocations, that native American English speakers are most comfortable with. I often collaborate with clients to script, proofread, and evaluate the American accent English verbal presentations required of them. Astute international graduate school professors often call on me to listen, view, and evaluate their PowerPoint supported lectures before presenting the thoroughly edited versions in class.

My most popular lesson topics include, but are not limited to:
1. American English conversation
2. Business English pronunciation
3. Small talk participation
4. Regional accent modification
5. Interview question preparation
6. Oral presentation evaluation
7. Phrasal verb comprehension
8. Medical patient consultation

Are you planning a business trip? Let's collaborate to list the English questions you are likely to be asked and practice your best American accent answers. Similarly, we can predict and practice effective telephone English dialogues until you are confident when making and taking phone calls. When we proofread, edit, and practice delivering your PowerPoint presentations, aloud, you can expect your public speaking butterflies to disappear.

Invitation: Many of the long-term ESL scholars that I assist report huge improvements in their American accent English abilities after meeting with me online, twice weekly, for as little as three months. My clients often validate my respectful dedication to their English communication goals with the excellent reviews and the high lesson ratings included here. I am proud of their accomplishments and grateful for the trust they place in my teaching abilities. I invite you to contact me to discuss your American accent English learning objectives and to schedule future lessons.

Background: During the many years that I traveled, studied, and worked abroad in Austria, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, China, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Hawaii, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Virgin Islands, I became familiar with many of the world's diverse peoples and their unique cultures. I frequently accepted requests to teach American accent English to enthusiastic ESL scholars at every stop. In return, my international students often invited me to dine with their families and friends. Best of all, I have developed lasting friendships around the world. (Updated: August 2015)

"Outstanding"

- Rokhsareh, Atlanta, GA on 11/2/12
Nathan replied on 3/1/2013

I am very proud to congratulate Rokhsareh on her recent acceptance by both of the American dental PhD graduate programs to which she applied. We collaborated to prepare her American accent English verbal presentation skills before she took the daunting TOEFL exam and again just before she interviewed at the two dental graduate schools she preferred. We worked together until she felt thoroughly prepared to confidently respond to any question put to her. I expect Rokhsareh to excel at whichever dental school she ultimately chooses.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ESL/ESOL

I began teaching English to speakers of other languages during the many years that I traveled, studied, and worked overseas in Austria, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Hawaii, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, Switzerland, Thailand, Vietnam, as well as many of the Caribbean Islands. What started as a great way to make friends while learning each other's language has evolved, with formal education, dedication, and experience, into my sole vocation. I received Kennesaw State University TESOL certification training. I am currently tutoring or mentoring international working professionals originally from Brazil, China, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Korea, Peru, the Philippines, Spain and Russia.

I teach individual ESL clients, the standard non-regional American accent English communication skills required in the global marketplace. Many international working professionals have used my ESL tutoring services to upgrade their American-English speaking, writing, listening, and reading comprehension abilities. My most advanced American accent English clients have consulted with me, weekly, for over two years regarding corporate management projects of every description. Other executive ESL clients are typically required to write employee evaluations, legal opinions, or peer revue journal submissions. We meet regularly to review and refine the English communications required of them.

Thank you for considering my ESL tutoring services. I sincerely look forward to working with you. (Updated August 2015)

Public Speaking

Many of the ESL graduate school students and working professionals that I assist are expected to engage in American accent English discussions, offer verbal explanations, introduce visiting clients, and narrate PowerPoint presentations. I provide the American accent English pronunciation and elocution skills that speakers of other languages want when creating and delivering oral presentations. I frequently collaborate with my students to draft, proofread, and practice their presentations. I am asked to articulate Standard American accent English examples during practice. I provide the constructive evaluations needed for a confident English presentation. Thank you for your interest in my English tutoring services.

Speech

I routinely provide the speech evaluations and respectful suggestions that working professionals and graduate school students need when preparing their verbal presentations. I assist my clients to clearly articulate the eloquent American accent English intonation that they desire to advance their careers.

I collaborate with clients to optimize their verbal presentations through the deliberate use of speech articulation, stress, pacing, and emphasis. My goal is to guide my ESL scholars toward increasingly clear, fluid, and coherent discourse.

I often assist my clients with their pronunciation, vocabulary, and accent challenges. Toward that end, I routinely model the Standard non-regional American accent English generally associated with well-educated North Americans. I carefully enunciate my words using the slow careful speech and accurate American accent English syllable stress that does not require undue listener effort.

I regularly resource my Kennasaw University TESOL certification, professional tutoring experience, and scholarly English language reference book collection. My ESL students report increased confidence in their verbal presentations, successful job interview outcomes, and high coursework marks. My clients also praise my efforts in positive tutor reviews and with high lesson ratings. They credit me with the huge improvements and compliments they experience in regards to their American accent English language skills. Thank you for considering my qualifications.
